Britney Spears released her first major motion picture In February of 2002, bringing her back to her performance roots in acting. She plays a young woman, Lucy, who embarks on an adventurous road trip with three friends. In search of a mother who abandoned her at a young age, Lucy represents the coming-of-age story at the beginning of the new millennium, also reflected in Spears' album Britney. Although perhaps less remarkable in other ways, Crossroads was a treat for undying teenage fans and admirers of Spears' sexual appeal.
