The Russian Pop Music duo comprised of Yulia “Julia” Olegovna Volkova born on February 20 1985 and Elena "Lena" Sergeevna Katina born on October 4 1984. This music group came into existence in 2000 and it made a niche in the world of music in a very short period of time. The duo emerged as a pop sensation in Russia right from their beginning. Their savvy packaging and snappy pop songs are keys to their success.

The pop music duo TATU could achieve some fame with their unique behavior and appearance on the stage. They were usually dressed in schoolgirl uniforms on the stage and presented themselves to be in a quasi lesbian relationship. Their act of kissing each other in public on every chance they got gained some notoriety which rather helped them in their career.

Their debut album, 200 Po Vstriechnoy proved to be a mega hit album in Russia in 2001 and its English version 200 Km/H In the Wrong Lane was released in 2002 which received full of accolades from the music savvy people.

The releaseof their videos and hit songs such as "Ya Soshia S Uma" ("All the Things She Said") and "Nas Ne Dagoniat" ("Not Gonna Get Us")gained them the due recognition they deserved. Over and above all, this singing duo became popular in almost every part of the world.
