“I don't really regret anything I've done, even if it's bad. I mean, I have a $100,000 Chopard watch. I don't need a $100,000 watch, but I like it. It's all diamonds. That's a little extreme, but I don't care” said Tara Reid in an interview. What can be interpreted out of these words?
That Tara is a young but confident girl or that she is an immature foolish little giggly girl? Different people may give different interpretations to this, but we all agree to at least one thing, when it comes to speaking one’s mind, Tara Reid is as honest as anyone can be. This young celebrity has no pretensions and does not mind being herself even in front of public. She might be in news every other day for philandering in pubs and discs, getting drunk and creating nuisance; at least she does not keep her private life closely guarded behind covers.
Tara was born November 8, 1975, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She was born to Tom and Donna Reid; both of them are teachers who run a pair of day care centers. Tara is of mixed origin, she carries the blood of Irish, Italian, French, Hungarian, and English descent. Perhaps that is the reason of her unique drop dead gorgeous beauty.
By the time Tara was five years old, she was singing and dancing on the tables in the local mall. A New York talent agent caught her impromptu act and straightaway made for her parents to ask them to permit her to model. She worked for game shows, and did commercials for Crayola, Jell-O and McDonald's. Even though she was young enough to immerse herself in things like dolls and chocolates, she decided that she wanted to act!!
With that motive in mind, she attended the prestigious Professional Children's School in New York City to hone on the art of acting. She also acted in "Cruel Intentions", "Urban Legends", and “Days of Our Lives" apart from some other minor roles.
In 1999, Tara did the movie "The Big Lebowski" and afterwards she did “American Pie”. Tara made an instant rapport with her teen viewers as they could easily identify with the roles she portrayed. Tara has a great body to swear by part from her unique arresting yet innocent face.
In the same year, Reid earned a form of screen immortality with her role as one of the four high school students who make a pact to lose their virginity by graduation day in “American Pie”. Tara herself was of similar age as the character she was portraying, may be that is the reason for her lively, realistic performance.
She has also done some low-profile roles in the independent film Girl and in Cruel Intentions. She also acted in Body Shot as a young girl looking for love/sex. Tara also made forage in Josie and The Pussycats (2001), based on the Archie Comics. Because of the immense success of American Pie, a sequel of the original was also made which also topped the charts. With such leads in her lap, Tara has become a young celebrity, a name to reckon with.
Tara was also engaged to MTV Host Carson Daly who had a small cameo in Josie and The Pussycats] up until 2001. But after some differences between the couple, they parted ways after a year of courtship. Tara reportedly went anorexic after that trauma she had to face. She made a conscious effort to regain her weight and finally emerged victorious.
