Childhood:
Sandra Annette Bullock was born on July 26 in Arlington, Virginia. 1964 to German mother Helga Bullock, an opera singer, and Alabamian father John Bullock a voice trainer. Throughout her childhood she stayed in Europe because of her mother’s profession. The family resettled in Washington D.C., where Bullock attended Washington-Lee High School. At the high school Bullock was an admired cheerleader and was voted as “The Most Likely to Brighten Your Day."
Career:
Because of her acting interest she left the East Carolina University. She then moved to New York. Without wasting any time she enrolled herself for intensive acting classes and simultaneously holding a bartending job. She did the job of bartender for three years and after that she worked hard at achieving her dream of becoming an actress. Sandra went to every casting call and audition she could. She got the good response in 1998, from a critic named John Simon, who gave Sandra's career a push in the right direction when he made a positive comment about her acting talent in a review of No Time Flat an off-Broadway production that Sandra was in.
She started with a television role of a beautiful bionic woman in 1989. The show was entitled as Bionic Showdown: The Six-Million-Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. With her television performance she was awarded with a starring role in NBC’s Working Girl.
In 1992, she took up a role in Love Potion No.9. Here also the film could not do much on the box office. But as an actress she managed to step into mainstream and landed up into five roles in the year 1993. Her most evident film of that year was Demolition Man starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes.
With the help of this role she got the lead role in another action movie named Speed along with Keanu reeves. Speed launched her popularity intensely, which led her to star in upcoming movies like While You Were Sleeping and A Time To Kill, where she began earning a seven digit salary. By experiencing all sort of activities Sandra began her own production company called Fortis Films. Her first project was Hope Floats, and even though it only achieved a minimal amount of success, her career came back in full force when she starred opposite Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic. She starred as Miss Congeniality in 2000 and then in the thriller Murder By Numbers in 2002. She also lent her voice to The Prince Of Egypt. She won many awards for her performance.
Personality:
Sandra Bullock is the essence of the girl-next-door. She is of very strong character and her fluffy movie roles make us believe that she's only about being sweet, but there is more to her than just smiles; she is also a mesmerizing beauty. Sandra likes her isolation, but is still outgoing and friendly to all her fans. It's her inborn charm that has made her so successful and got us to fall deep under her spell.
On a personal note, she has been sweetly linked to blues guitarist Gut Forsythe, A Time to kill playmate Matthew McConaughey, film producer Michael Mailer, Ryan Gosling and Monster Garage star Jesse James. Though she was once engaged to actor Tate Donovan (for 3 years), Bullock has never married. "The only reason I haven't married yet is because I take it too seriously." She added, "I've always been very skeptical about marriage, because I only want to do it once. I want to do it the right way."
She was one of the concerned celebrities for the tsunami disaster in Asia, Bullock donated over $1 million. She also contributed the same amount of money for the 2001 terrorist attacks in America. About Bullock's generosity, a Red Cross spokesperson stated, "Sandra continues to enable our lifesaving work and is a model for personal generosity."
