Riya Sen is the new sensation of Bollywood. Born on March 24, 1974 in Washington D.C, the Bengal Beauty has made her position in Bollywood with her recent films like “style” and “Jhankar Beats.” The 5'1" tall beauty is yet a budding actress in the industry. She is grand daughter of legendary film actress Suchitra Sen and daughter of Moon Moon Sen. Though she was born in USA, now she lives with her mother and sister Raima Sen in a cosy apartment in Juhu, the north Mumbai suburb.
She was a student of Rani Birla College at Kolkota. After completing college she entered into modeling. Her talent in modeling brought her a new debut in Bollywood. Her debut film in Hindi was Kailash Sundernath’s “love You Hamesha.” But in age of 15 she acted in a Tamil film “Taj Mahal.” The film was directed by Bharati Raja.
The actress is dating with the film Murder’s actor Ashmit Patel. A Mumbai based tabloid recently published news with a photograph of Ashmit smooching a girl, who is being thought to be Riya Sen. The tabloid claimed that they have the full version of the video from where the photograph have been collected. The video has a girl, posing nude in different gesture. Though the girl's face is not clear in this video, but has great resemblance to Riya Sen. It is being gossiped that the MMS was distributed by Ashmit himself. But, it is heard that the dispute has been solved.
Among Riya Sen’s coming films, Anandabadram is one. She is to play Bhama in this film. This film is being made by Santosh Sivan. Bhama is the daughter of blacksmith Champan. Kalabhavan Mani plays Champan in this film. Her lover boy Digambran’s role is done by Manoj K Jayan. The film said to be a horror film. Anandabhadram will begin on April 5 at Thiruvananthapuram. Khalid Mohamed's forthcoming 'Silsilay' is another film where she is going to play leading role. This time she is going to pair with Ashmit Patel in this film.
About her fitness she says, “It’s very important for me to be fit.” She believes mental and physical health goes hand in hand but it's a little more important for her to remain in a good state of mind. When her mind is relaxed, she looks and feels better." With little tendency to gain weight, Riya's fitness regime and eating habits are flexible.
Commenting on her upcoming film Tum Ho Na, in which she plays a negative role of an obsessed girl, Riya believes that acting is something you can't learn. It just runs in the pedigree. "There are crucial things to acting which acting schools don't teach you. So what's the fun wasting time? It's best to learn on sets", she asserts. Riya not sure about her Bollywood career, and now she has tend her interest towards Bengali films like her sister Raima, who shot into the limelight with her performance in 'Chokher Bali'.
