Pink’s inspiration behind launching her career as a singer is none other than her father. It is under his guidance only that he deeply related herself to music. Her father used to play Bob Dylan and Don McLean songs on the guitar. She was born as Alecia Moore to parents James and Judy on 8th September 1979 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, USA. She adds another number to those uncommon artists that have the capability to go beyond and develop her personality.
She was obliged with her nickname in her childhood as she used to blush pink when her pants pulled down. Being the out product of a musical family, she became customary on the Philadelphia club scene in her childhood only. She emerged as a dancer, then as a backing vocalist for the local hip-hop group Schools of Thought. All these designations were possible for her because melodious blood of her musical family regulates in her veins. Then she gave vent to her another wish of writing her own songs. Good stars favored her luck and she embraced an opportunity to sing a song on stage on every Friday at a local DJ at Club Fever.
Moore prepared her singing debut with a local rap crew at the age of 13. Later, she was given an offer by a MCA executive to complete the line-up of vocal group Basic Instinct. After a short fascination in this trio, Moore embossed her way on to “Choice”, another R&B outfit, who were signed by LaFace Records. Her charisma for writing captured L.A. Reid’s attention; as a result she is signed by him as a solo artist.
Released in April 2000, “Can't Take Me Home”, incorporated several lame efforts to summon up the spirit of "There You Go", next to the obligatory R&B diva ballad, "Let Me Let You Know". Another hit which shined into the US Top 5 in October was "Most Girls", an everlasting hit.
In early 2000, with "There You Go" she achieved the brand name for herself in Top 10 hit. This gave Pink an important clasp in the older teenage market alongside acts such as TLC and Kelis. Then came the moment when Pink moved away from her built-up roots on to the more successful M!ssundaztood. The marketable achievement of her debut is articulated by this album only and it also credited the US Top 5 singles, "Get The Party Started" and "Just Like A Pill". Her first UK chart-topper is "Just Like A Pill”.
She tried to present herself with the new face of US pop along with her tales of adolescent anguish at the end of 2002. A cultural shift away can be sensed as singers like Britney Spears and Mandy Moore promotes a diversion from her healthy image.
She knocked the box office in year 2003 with her William Orbit "Feel Good Time". Her second single, "Most Girls", achieved the same success as the former one. What really makes her feel satisfied is giving vent to her personal experiences through her singing rather than going mad for singing romantic ballads.
