Petra Nemcova, nick named as "Czech Chick" due to her being of Czech origin, is a gorgeous model with astounding looks and sexy guise. She was one of those uncountable unfortunate people who became victim of the devastating tsunami. But fortuitously she was also one of those very few people who survived the fatal blow of the mortal wave. This happened when Petra was enjoying with her boyfriend Simon Atlee (a British fashion photographer) on the Thai beach resort of Khao Lak. Suddenly a huge tsunami wave came from God knows where, and swept their hut. Petra struggled with death for eight long hours, when she was alive holding onto a branch of a tree while the water washed by. After things came under control, she was saved and taken to a hospital for treatment. Luckily she did not get hurt much apart from a broken pelvis and several internal injuries. But, unluckily, Petra lost her boy friend Simon Atlee, for ever in the mortal combat. Atlee's dead body was found after a long period of time by the authorities.

Even today, mere mention of the deadly scene sends a chill down her spine. Petra took considerably long time to recuperate physically as well as emotionally. And today when the lady is completely fine, she considers herself "lucky to be alive". And now she is making plans to give something back to those who have lost everything in that nightmare.

Very few people know that Petra has a constant reminder of the fatal misfortune that happened to her in shape of a necklace, which was given to her by a fellow survivor on her way to the hospital. She says, "I have worn it 'til this day."

Now, lets move away from this depressing scenario, to Petra's hobbies, other than modeling that is the core of Nemcova, the lady enjoys dancing a lot. On this passion of her the lady has to say that "I love to dance. I can dance for, like, four or five hours nonstop without even drinking water. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing." It is not that this otherwise classy and delicate looking beauty, likes only the girlish stuff. The supermodel is really adventurous at heart. Time and again she takes time to satiate her desire of being under water; we mean "scuba diving".
