Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch better known as Michelle Branch was born on 2nd July, 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born before time. She was very fond of music and listening to Beatles. At the age of three she recorded her first song of Beatles on her parent’s karaoke machine and sent them off to her grandma. She remembers her version of "Ticket to Ride" clearly, "She's got a chicken to ride, but she don't care!”
She started taking singing lesson at the age of 8 and very soon gave up due to their shifting. She then shifted to Sedona, Arizona with her family. Again she started with her singing lesson and this time she continues her musical lesson.
At the age of 15 she started playing guitar and was gifted one by her parents.
She got her first major break with Jeff Rabhan a music director, whom she met on the resort of her family’s friend. She is still being guided by Jeff Rabhan. She then recorded an Indy album named Broken Bracelet and made it local. She then played for Hanson’s reps on one of the shows. She was then awarded with recording deal with Maverick Records. She was then signed with Madonna’s label. It was almost half way through with her major album titled "The Spirit Room".
The single from Michelle album titled “Everywhere” was a big hit and reached to 12 spot in Billboard hot 100.
By this time she became as upcoming star. She was wanted by everyone. In April 2003, Michelle finished recording her album, named Hotel Paper, after years of writing. The first single to be taken off HP was "Are You Happy Now?", which charted. Since then, she has gone on to perform at the Super bowl, Latin VMAs, headlining the Pepsi Smash, Humanitarian of the Year, MMVAs and was the first person to perform on top of the Madison Square Garden marquee
