Born on 19th of April in Nyagan, Russia, Maria has emerged out as a wonderful sports star on the map of the world of Tennis. On the very same day of her birth Russia tested its nuclear capacity. Sharapova migrated to black sea resort of Sochi along with her parents in1989. She began showing her talent at the age of 4 only. In the year 1992, Maria Sharapova's talent was recognized by the Tennis Legend “Martina Navratilova.” She attended Bollettieri's academy in 1995 and impressed one of the coaches by her very first instance of stroke.
Her intensive training began at Bollettieri academy. Some restriction on visa and financial situation kept her away from her parents for two years. In the year 2001Maria turned professional. Sharapova made a mark in the world of tennis by reaching the final of Australian Open for Juniors in the month of march of 2002. Maria Sharapova made an entry in the list of 20 most talented teenagers capable of changing the world in 2002. She was ranked 186 in the same year. In 2002 only Maria became the coolest girl of America. She kept grabbing the upper rankings. Sharapova participated in her first grand slam Australian Open and qualified for French open also. She reached the final at Edgbaston and entered the fourth round of Wimbledon. WTA tour title was the first title she won in Japan and Quebec. In the end of 2003 she ranked 32.
Maria's father was her coach. She was coached by Robert Lansdorp who had trained Pete Sampras and Lindsay Davenport too. Maria lost to another Russian Anastasia Myskina in the third round of Australian Open in 2004.
