Thereafter, Mandy started learning auditioning and voice lessons for having parts in the local theaters. She got her first role as Ngana in "South Pacific". Mandy Moore has been appearing in more than a dozen plays since then. She mostly played her theatre roles in Central Florida area. She received the invitations of doing many lead roles also. The plays like "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Guys and Dolls" gave her an unforgettable recognition. It was at Stagedoor Manor which is a performing academy in New York she learnt theatre. She was very hard working. She was studying theatre during the day and playing roles in night. Mandy made it to the final two choices for "High Society" when she was auditioned for Broadway. She swiftly got involved in national advertisements, TV pilots and voice-overs. She lent her voice to the "Ducky" for the Universal Studios.
In the fashion world, Mandy made a mark. She appeared as a model in a Mexican teen magazine. The producer noticed her and invited her do the full demo. She was caught by the eyes of a talent scout while recording a theme song for a TV pilot who apprised David McPherson of this talent by sending him an incomplete demo of mandy’s shoot. David McPherson is the Senior Vice President of Urban A&R for Epic Records/550. McPherson was so impressed with what he listened and instantly went to Mandy to hear the young singing talent. Mandy was Jubilant by receiving a couple of other offers and she the talented and youthful star took the decision of getting into a singing agreement with Sony Music. She toured with Backstreet boys. Over half a million copies 'Candy' was sold. The huge sales of “Candy” convinced 550 music companies to come ahead to get the “So Real” out which came in as an album in 1999. A Walk to Remember was a small-budget film that followed and proved to be a mediocre success.
Almost two years ago she got into acting. She did a supporting role in The Princess Diaries as a snooty cheerleader. This film was a success. Encouraged with the success of the family film, she played her first leading role in A Walk to Remember. The next three films followed were: "How to Deal," "Saved" and "Try Seventeen". Mandy is a spokeswoman for Neutrogena products, and featured in the company's TV and print advertising campaigns. She's also got into partnership with the Wet Seal-Contempo to endorse its Blue Asphalt product catalog. Mandy is one of the best singing and acting talent of the entertainment world.
