Lil Kim was born on 11th July, 1975 in Brooklyn, New York. She was looked after by her father. When she was 9 years old, their parents got divorced. She passed her childhood under a strict restriction. She even fought with her father. At last she ran away from her home. She then settled in her friends apartments. She also gets engaged with drug addict boyfriend. She was a prostitute at one time. But she washed her act when she met her mentor and father figure, Christopher Wallace. He is known as Biggie Smalls and Notorious B.I.G.
Kim’s talent was discovered by her work in the single like “Player’s Anthem and the Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s album conspiracy. She has also appeared on many titles like Mona Lisa, the Isley Brothers, Total, and Skin Deep’s records.
She released her solo album titled Hard Core in the year 1996. The album was released in collaboration with producers like P.Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Prestige, and High Class. The album stands at no.11 position in Billboard chart. It became big commercial success. She became a female rapper. While everything was rosy and good in her life she suddenly got shock news of death of the notorious B.I.G on March 9th, 1997.

Her biggest single were “Lady Marmalade” which was released in 2001. The work was a combined effort of Pink, Christina Aguilera, Mya, and Missy Elliott. The song top the billboard charts for nine weeks. She was then awarded with Teen Choice Award, two MTV video Music Awards and Best Video from a film. Not only has this she also received Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with vocals. Lil Kim is bitterly known for her provocative outfits, pornographic lyrics, edgy rhythm, and groundbreaking success, this 4'11" diva sure packs more punch than her name implies.
