Childhood:
Hillary Duff was born on September 28th, 1987, in Houston, Texas. Her parents were Bob Duff and Susan Duff. Hillary belongs to an entertainment family, Hillary's mother is a producer and her sister, Haylie Duff, is in the music group. At the very early age of 6 Hillary started touring with Cechetti Ballet's tour and while touring itself she decided for acting career. By this time she became very famous and enjoys many fans.
Duff enjoys swimming, tumbling. Though she is busy, but still she manages her time well between homes in Houston and Los Angeles with her parents, sister and two dogs.
Career:

Hilary advances her career very fast. With hard work and dedication the 10 year old Hilary landed into first role of TV movie, True Women. After that she starred in Casper Meets Wendy (1998) and in 1999, Hilary received a significant role in The Soul Collector, again a TV movie that enhanced her recognition and she was honored by the Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Young Actress in a TV Movie or Pilot.
After having small appearance on the TV, she was offered a lead role by the Disney Channel in Lizzie McGuire (2001). The series gained lots of popularity and success and it displayed Hilary's name to an international audience. It was the turning point of her career. Then in the year 2003 the same movie was released in the theatre and it earned around $42 million. On the personal front also Hilary became the top ranker among the young entertainers. She is not only known by her acting but also for her voice. She has contributed her vocal for the soundtrack of Lizzie McGuire television.
Hilary duff released her debut album Metamorphosis and it enjoys the No. 2 position on the Billboard charts. Hilary's two singles, "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean", dwelled in the top 40. The album consisted of various styles and displays her flexibility in music. Hillary toured Japan, Australia, America, and Europe to promote the album. Busy with the promotion of her debut album, Hilary also continued her acting career. She appeared in the movie, Cheaper by the Dozen, and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film. Staying busy, Hillary next appeared as Sam in the film, A Cinderella Story.
Personality:

Hilary is not just like a normal teenager, she maintains a career like much older with no signs of slowing down. She is a big supporter of charities mainly associated with the kids’ problem. She even donated her portions of ticket sales from her sold-out Most Wanted tour. It’s true that she has a great support from family and friends, management and fans and she also believes that she is too lucky to get all the success at very young age. As described by herself: "It sounds cheesy but I think my life's kinda like a fairy tale. I worked really hard, but I'm very, very lucky too. I'm just 16 and I've done so many amazing things. I travel the world, I have fans that support me, and I get to do what I love - make movies, sing and really be myself. I have a beautiful family, a great support system, and wonderful friends, and I go shopping every week! I'm so lucky, but it's not necessarily like a Cinderella Story."

In 2004 she was the international spokesperson of KID With A Cause, an organization that specializes in poverty-stricken children, and contributed a portion of all ticket sales from her concert to support the Tsunami Relief Effort.
