Estella Warren was born on December 23, 1978 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

A professional swimmer at the age of 12, Estella moved to Toronto to train with the national synchronized swimming team.

She was the Canadian National Champion for three years and represented her country at the World Aquatic Championship, where she scored second position.

She was discovered in a high school fashion show where a Polaroid of her was sent to an agency in New York. She was almost immediately signed to a modeling contract, and eventually appeared in "Sports Illustrated", "Vogue", "Vanity Fair" and two TV commercials for Chanel #5 perfume.

Career

After becoming the senior national champion at 17, Estella decided not to participate in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, as modeling became her first priority.

After the shoots, Estella made a decision to move to New York permanently, to pursue her modeling career fulltime. She became a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and her father became her manager and modeling assignments soon started coming Estella's way.

Soon after, Estella found herself posing for various other European magazines.

Estella's beautiful face graced the covers of the following magazines: French and Spanish Marie Claire, French, German, Spanish, and Italian Elle, German GQ, as well as Yahoo Internet Life.

Estella has appeared in advertisements for Andrew Marc, Byblos, Manuel Canovas beachwear, Perry Ellis, Cacharel, De Beers, Samsung notebooks, Cartier, Volvo.

Estella could be found on the computers worldwide with a 2000 desktop calendar, where users can view Estella on their desktop all year round and even hear recorded greetings of her.

Signed with modeling agencies in New York, Paris, London, and Milan, this champion swimmer turned supermodel is going great guns.

But during one of her commercials, she decided that she might want to try her hand at acting.

She got her big break in Stallone’s 2001's action film "Driven." Then an even bigger film came a long with a very famous director Tim Burton . She would co-star Mark Wahlberg in the film "Planet of the Apes."

The film was a hit making her one of Hollywood's hottest new stars.

Estella will next be seen in the soon-to-be-released film ‘Perfume’.

It looks like her career in acting is definitely on its way.

As Estella now lives in New York, she says she misses the open space of Canada but that New York has such a fun, fast, invigorating pace. "You get so much done in a day here". Estella says that to keep her model figure, she exercises a lot. "I get an adrenaline rush after exercising every day. I run, bike, do yoga or hike. I like to take bike rides with my boyfriend. At the gym, I do cardio, sit-ups and stretch."

Estella's hobbies include singing, swimming, horseback riding and playing the piano. She says that if she wasn't modeling, she would love to get into acting, or she would want to run a classic French restaurant or a bar/restaurant, because of her passion for cooking.
