Elizabeth Hurley
The British beauty, intelligent lady, charming persona and what else rhetoric “Elizabeth Hurley” can be awarded with. In fact, Elizabeth Hurley is not subject to be given any introduction as such. However, for those rarest folks who hardly have any curiosity about movies, Elizabeth Hurley is a 39 years old British model and actress. Her unforgettable performances in several films like Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me and bedazzled have earned her the number of fans that can surprise anyone. “The Austin Powers” lady’s unmatched beauty and genuine sex appeal can generate one’s impulses to rush for her movies.
Childhood
Elizabeth Hurley was born on June 10, 1965, in Hampshire, England to a family of working parents. Father was an army man and mother, a Schoolteacher. Ballet dancing has been Hurley’s childhood passion. Ironically, the same passion pushed her into a society which followed while studying Ballet at a boarding school unique and funny culture. Although the now Hurley does not seem to have ever gone through a phase when she had pink hair and a nose ring, she had fallen prey to the early 80’s punk fashion in England. The Dancing aspirer was caught in a party of Punk Rockers and sent back to home. Later she got training in dance and theatres from London Studio Centre. Her transition to youth from childhood was bearing the fruits of hard work in the form of her debut role in “Aria” in 1987.
Career and Achievements
She got her debut role in “Aria” in 1987 at the age of 21. She grabbed the opportunity to work in the film “Rowing in the wind” in the same year which starred Hugh Grant—her to be boyfriend. In the beginning of her struggle she could not get the fame and niche in Hollywood films and came back to England. Off Course, playing Christabel Bielenberg in BBC mini series in 1988 did gain her some significant accolades but that did not prove enough. In 1992, Hurley’s action films “Passenger 57” could do something for her but still it was difficult to receive any quality role.
It was something very unprecedented (and interesting also) that brought true recognition to Elizabeth Hurley in Hollywood Industry. The credit goes to her Versace dress that she wore to the London Premier of Hugh grant’s film, Four Wedding and a Funeral”. That low cut risqué dress was entirely held together by safety pins which got Hurley the stardom.
Those who still did not notice her, 1997's Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery made their head turn to Elizabeth Hurley. This movie was a big hit and earned Hurley the fame she deserved. Several other movies followed like: Permanent Midnight (1998), My Favorite Martian (1999), EDtv and Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Mickey Blue Eyes was second film of Simian Films—company founded by Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant. This film starred her boyfriend Hugh Grant. She was placed as the fourth greatest British film actress in the Orange Film Survey of 2001.
Love life
Hurley’s romantic involvement with Hugh Grant was very controversial. Leaving these controversies aside they surprised the world by founding together a company called Simian Films. They produced their first film “Extreme Measures” in 1996.
