“Kiss the girls” star Ashley Judd is a well known, talented and one of the most beautiful actresses of Hollywood industry. Childhood
Actress Ashley Judd was born on 19 April 1968 to the parents Naomi Judd (Mother), a western singer and a marketer Michael Ciminella (Father). Judd's childhood dinot pass through a great comfort as her family was lacking money. Kentucky was the place where Judd spent a great part of her life. Both Judd and her mother were striving hard to establish as singers. They kept moving around places and could never manage to stay long in ahouse. The family met their necessities somehow. Electricity or running water were like once in a blue moon for them. The trivial fact regarding her education is that she attended 12 schools in 13 years. She went on to major in French at the Kentucky University, from which she graduated in 1990.
Career and Achievements
Judd flied to Los Angeles on her sister’s advice at the age of 23. She was a youngster with full of self confidence and that is why it did not take much time to get her first agency contract. She could manage to grab a part in the movie Kuffs in 1992. She out rightly refused to do a nude scene for this film but it did not prove to be a hindrance in her path of stardom. She performed the title role in Ruby in Paradise in 1993 which won her New York Film Critics’ Circle award for Best Actress and a Sundance Film Festival Independent Spirit award. Judd also appeared in some television’s hit serials like Star Trek, Sisters and TV movie Till Death Do Us Part (1992).
One of the most controversial movies “Natural Born Killers” of Ashley Judd was released in 1994 with cuts as it was considered to be too intense for the general audience. However Judd’s performance in this film was too good. This film was intense for the reason of only one character, Judd, being survived in the climax. Further some other quality films followed like Smoke (1995), Heat (1995), The Passion of Darkly Noon (1995), A Time To Kill (1996), and Normal Life (1996).
For her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in TV’s Norma Jean and Marilyn She received both an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe nomination
