An actor, entertainer, composer, writer and even a musician, clubbed into   one is the so called personality, Will Smith. Born in a middle class family, he has to carve a niche for himself in this world full of people. He came across his wife Jada Pinkett, when she first tried out for the role of his girlfriend on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (1990). That’s another thing that the role finally was performed by Nia Long.

He is among the list of top 50 most beautiful people in the world, according to the records maintained by People Magazine (1998). During his rap career “The Fresh Prince”, was rewarded a grammy award for the song “Summertime”.

As a part of the Gala for president bill Clinton, in January 1993, he hosted Presidential Inaugural Celebration for Youth and emerged as a role model for the public.

Will Smith, a native of Philadelphia, was born on September 25, 1968. He is the second of four children; of middle-class parents (his father owned a refrigeration company and his mother worked for the school board) .His aptitude to come out of the mess earn him the nickname "Prince". It is only this duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, formed by Smith that has popularized his nickname. Smith earned name and fame as a rapper by producing two platinum albums and winning a Grammy for He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper.

It was in his teen age that he exactly realized what life means. When he was just 18, he had to face misfortune as he was in debt to the IRS. Warner Bros. executive Benny Medina, came as a helping hand to him who wanted to picture his life history into a TV show. The TV show brings in light Smith’s own experience as a poor kid living with a rich Beverly Hills family. The result was The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, who had turned down an M.I.T. scholarship to pursue his career –earned even greater fame as the show's protagonist.

Moving back and forth as an entertainer, musician and actor, he earned a reputation of one of the most successful entertainers -- African-American or otherwise -- in the American popular consciousness of the 1990s.It was in 1989, when Smith was looking for some change, some kind of excitement. It was then that he met Benny Medina, during that time; he entered into movies where the critics took note of him in Six Degrees of Separation (1993). With the success that came with the action picture Bad Boys (1995), Will's movie career was set. His had a huge hit with the Blockbuster Independence Day (1996) where he plays the alien-battling Marine Corps Captain Steven Hiller.

Having proved himself as a popular personality and also great praises for his dramatic work, the only character which everybody is expecting this actor to perform is romantic comedy. All guesswork came to an end with the release of Hitch in early 2005. Starring Smith as a fabled "date doctor," the film has left the audience to wonder if there's anything Smith can't do.

He even mentioned he enjoyed making a shift from Ali to Men In Black. Nonetheless, Smith has no complaints about his career. "What I really try to accomplish with the roles is, you know, I'm trying to find the number-one answer--the film that does both things," he says. "The film that is a crowd-pleaser and it can garner some kind of critical acclaim.”

In Birmingham, England, Will Smith told the reporters that the decision to cast a Cuban-American actress, Eva Mendes, as his romantic interest in Hitch was based on "an accepted myth." The prevalent supposition, according to Smith in Hollywood is that if both the male and female protagonist in a romantic comedy are black, then people around the world are not interested in seeing it. ...
