"It's the quality of my work that makes people want to go to my films." This is what the veteran actor Russell Crowe has to say about the mad rush of fans at his movies. And this is quite right as well, as a long string of real good quality movies can be attached to the actor's resume. A few movies to choose will be quite difficult, but still some that are truly exceptional include A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator, Romper Stomper, The Quick And The Dead, L.A. Confidential and the list is endless.
Commenting upon Russell's working style; one is forced to say that this brilliant actor prefers to go buy "quality of work" rather than "quantity of work". And this fact is very much evident from some of the very finest choices of movies that Russell has made throughout his career spanning fantabulous 16 years. Russell is endowed with a superb ability that makes him capable of carry off a wide range of roles and sentiments.
This versatility of the actor comes to surface when he acts as some one who is innocent and adorable with the same ease that he shows while portraying a character who is slickly schizophrenic. It is this ability of annihilating the boundaries between the self and the character by merging into its identity, which has made him a proud recipient of some of the esteemed awards.
Some of the awards the Russell has bagged include Online Film Critics Society Awards for A BEAUTIFUL MIND (2002), Academy Award for GLADIATOR (2000), Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards for THE INSIDER (2000), and Australian Film Institute: Global Achievement Award (2001), Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards for ROMPER STOMPER (1992)…..and many in the line.
Now, let's cast some light on Russell's personal life and take a sneak peak on Russell as a person. Russell came into the world on 7th of April. His parents Alex and Jocelyn were set caterers, so he spent, most of his childhood on the movie sets.
It was on one such set only that developed his affinity for the acting. And for further grooming Russell got trained at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the American Workshop. The secret behind the doors of cinema always fascinated Russell, "So I really lost any fears about TV and film performance at a young age, because I knew it was all fantasy" said the actor. Russell began his career with TV and got his major break on the big screen with Prisoners of the Sun, and then there was no looking back. Success touched his feet where ever the actor went.
As far as Crowe's conjugal life is concerned the actor is leading a happy family life with his wife actress Danielle Spencer since 7 April 2003, whom he met in 1989 when they co-starred in the 1990 film, The Crossing (1990). Russell also has child whom he loves a lot.
