Being born as the only child of parents Robert and Laurie on July 21, 1952 in Chicago, Illinios, he knew it better how to prove himself. For the last three decades of the 20th century, this comedic genius has been defining comedy. His name outshined among the most talented Hollywood hunks because of his flexible personality. With Mork and Mindy, he vaulted his prominence in this busy Hollywood world. His flaming desire to launch himself as a comedian and a small screen star was the only wish, which he was born to fulfill. Later, he tried his hand in both comic and dramatic roles.

During his childhood, he had fervor to study Jonathan Winters and used to play with toy soldiers. Because of his father's promotion, there is a frequent change of school and this is what tagged him with "new kid in school." He was often ragged by his friends because of being chubby and even in those tough situations he used to guard himself with his third helping hand named Comedy. There were times when in order to pay his tuitions, he has to work as a mime. His family settled down in Marin country when he was in his second year. This production of his earned him a People's Choice Award, Golden Globe Award and an MTV Movie Award and also he has grossed over $200 million in the U.S. He emerged as a serious actor which marked his career. After the journey of successes of 1995's Jumanji, 1996's The Birdcage and 1997's Flubber, he acquired his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He then plan out his next four projects critically: 1998's "Patch Adams" and "What Dreams May Come", and 1999's "Bicentennial Man" and "Jakob the Liar".

In the millennium, he came out as an alarming personality. Being on the stage for gloomy roles in 2002's Death to Smoochy and Insomnia, he plans out to stage on a hugely successful live comedy special for HBO. At present, Williams is residing in San Francisco, California with his second wife and three children. Right through the beginning of his career, he has tried to maintain himself as the most endowed personality of Hollywood.
