Born on May 16th ,1952 in Navan, country Meath, Ireland, Brosnan joined London Drama Center and studied acting for three years. An act that can be regarded as the turning point of the actor's life came in1981 with ABC-TV mini-series The Manions of America. It was this role of his that gave him the identifying role of Remington Steele,in the pouplar long running detective series.This role acted as the stron base on which he bagged the highly coveted role of 007 James Bond.
Apart from acting the veteran actor has also associated himself with philanthropic causes like cancer fund-raising and supporting environmental causes.It was for this noble gesture only that he was awarded an honorary OBE by the British government for his film and charitable work in July 2003.
