Keanu Reeves Keanu Reeves Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves was born to Samuel Nowlin Reeves , a geologist and Patricia, a showgirl. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1964. His name in Hawaiian means "the cool winds over the mountain". After his parents decided to walk on different paths of life, Keanu along with his mother and younger sister Kim moved to New York. One of the truths of life for Keanu is that at present his biological father is in prison on charges of cocaine possession. There is a long list of men, whom Keanu's mother has married once in her life and also has divorced them very soon. His mother divorced from his stepfather, Paul Aaron, a film and stage director within a year. Then the queue followed a rock promoter Robert Miller and hair salon owner Jack Bond, whom she has married and divorced.

Since he was not whole heartedly dedicated to academics, he demonstrated his interest in ice hockey and drama. Finally a turn came in his life when he dropped his school to prove his acting talents. Before acting, Keanu was involved with various other tasks, including landscaping, making pasta and sharpening skates at an ice rink shop. After performing in few TV movies and in stage concerts, he got a break in the 'Rob Lowe' hockey flick Youngblood (1986), which was filmed in Canada.

This marked a beginning for him to land his first step in the Hollywood world. His extraordinary performance in the dark adolescent drama, "River's Edge" (1986), aroused a lot of critical appreciation. In Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), his doofy on-screen performance perplexed the audiences about his real- life persona. Then in the next few years, he contributed his complete share to carve a niche for himself in the Hollywood world. His high peaked projects were the weapons in his hand to attain his goals. To bring into the light his amazing performances, in 1991, he played a slumming rich boy opposite River Phoenix's narcoleptic male hustler in My Own Private Idaho, then he acted as an unlucky lawyer who stumbles into the vampire's lair in Dracula (1992), and Shakespearean party-pooper Don Jon in Much Ado About Nothing (1993).

With the release of Speed (1994), he emerged as a big-budget action star. With its success, a great number of opportunities came across him. For a long period of five years, Reeves has to rotate between largely unwatched small films, like Feeling Minnesota (1996) and The Last Time I Committed Suicide (1997), and unwatched big films like Johnny Mnemonic (1995) and Chain Reaction (1996).After facing many unworkable situations, he finally beated box-office again with the Wachowski brothers' cyberadventure _The Matrix (1999).

A hot rumor about Reeves being a homosexual is beating the box office. The rumors about the star of films as "The Matrix", "Something's Gotta Give" and "Point Break"  conveys that he is a gay, but he has always tried to maintain his heterosexuality. Keanu once told to Vanity Fair that "There's nothing wrong with being gay," he also adds "so to deny it is to make a judgment. And why make a big deal of it?" The rumor about his "marriage" was started up not by gays out to appropriate Reeves for their own but by somebody simply "out to hurt Keanu", David Geffen mentioned.

No doubt, the banning of gay marriages was the main process for Massachusetts legislature in their state but actors Keanu Reeves and Alan Cumming finally married one another before a small party of invited friends. Though reeves follow the philosophy of love at first sight but he has put an end to his relation with a famous TV presenter, Rachel Jones and has his eyes on a new girlfriend on the set.
