With the company of other students he shaped an on-air show called the King Schmaltz Bagel Hour. The show got canceled after its first broadcast, envisioning his weakness for controversy. This included the comedy sketch "Name That Sin”, a game show where contestants confessed their worst sins.

On radio, there were certain issues which called for debate because of him. In New York City, Los Angles, Washington DC, and Philadelphia, his radio show is at number one. He made a grasp of 25 million listeners which easily gets attracted to his shows which are based upon homosexuals, strippers frequenting. His shamelessness can be revealed by his way of openly discomforting himself and his call in guests. During his first paying radio concert, at an understaffed 3,000-watt station in Briarcliff Manor, New York, "it dawned on me that I would never make it as a straight deejay, " Stern told James S. Kunen in an interview for People (10/22/84), "so I started to mess around. It was unheard-of to mix talking on the phone with playing music. It was outrageous, it was blasphemy."

In “Private Parts”, a 1993 production, he appeared with his life story. It became the fastest selling book for Simon& Schuster of all time as almost 10,000 copies were sold upon its release. His other book, “Miss America” (1995) also became a number one best seller though it was not as famous as the former one. America seems to be fully familiar with this versatile personality and there is nothing hidden about this personality which need to be disclosed. In 1985, his contract with Infinity labeled him as the shock jock of the century

As regards his education, he has completed his graduation with an average of 3.8 grades and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston University College of Communications. Being always the topper in the class, he seems to career oriented. For his radio show, he got a break in 1982. With high aspirations, he moved to New York but only after two years, the radio station terminated him. Since his radio antics weren’t easily digested and accepted by the general public audience, so this became the reason behind his termination.

In 1978, Stern got married to Allison. Together they share three daughters. For him family is the major concern. All through his career, he always tried to provide his daughters with all those things that he could never enjoy in his life. On October 22, 1999, after a twenty-one year marriage, the couple has separated, Howard Stern stated publicly. From the beginning of his antics, he had a side-kick with him named Robin Quivers and is an African American.

In Stern dictionary, though the word marriage has been deleted after his divorce from Alison but words like love and parenthood continue to bloom.

Even after his divorce from his ex-wife, he shares the guardianship of his three daughters with her. If asked to take the custody of his daughters, he is even ready for that. On one hand he expresses deep love for actress Beth Ostrosky but on other hand they share no thoughts to live together.
