George Clooney

George Clooney George Clooney George Clooney

Clooney was born as George Timothy Clooney to Nick Clooney who was a TV newscaster, actor and talk-show host of great repute around the Cincinnati area and Nina Clooney who was a former state beauty contestant. He was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky and was bought up in Augusta, Kentucky. His journey to form a career had various stations which took a great passage of time but finally the journey was worth living. Having got a window open to enter into small screen world, he created a full fledged door to enter into the busy world of Hollywood.

Beginning with unremarkable TV appearances, including Roseanne and the film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1988), he was soon renowned as the handsome Dr. Doug Ross in the TV hospital drama, ER (1994). Being privileged with a grade of global heartthrob, he took a curve thereby turning to films, making One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer in 1996. Then he arched his stardom by his critically acclaimed performance in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996).

The famous singer, Rosemary Clooney, his aunt always thought he'd make a fine comedian. George Clooney is such a personality who though attended Kentucky's Augusta High School, but was no academic. Clooney was more of a sporty kind. War books were his favorite. Baseball was his life.

He tried a lot of fields to find his interest which has added a lot to his experience. Having joined Northern Kentucky University, he doesn't find it interesting. Following his father, he tried broadcast journalism, but again it was not his cup of tea. Revelation aroused. Acting for him was just a thought as he was never in touch with this profession before. The only actual contact with this world of acting came when Raymond Burr came to Kentucky. George had to follow the poor fellow all day, grabbing his sleeve after every five minutes and shouting "You're Perry Mason! You're Perry Mason!" He got depressed when Rosemary asked him to leave. Fortunately, Tom Matthews, a friend and fellow-struggling-actor then came to put him up. This was the toughest period for him as George lived like that for a year, doing construction work and studying under the renowned Milton Katselas.

There came a time when Clooney after emerging on TV became so rich that he became the best-paid unknown actor in the Hollywood. He was earning $40,000 a week, owned a home and two cars. In the process he tried for a part in Thelma And Louise, reading for Ridley Scott five times, but lost out to Brad Pitt. The very thought that Clooney could create immediate consciousness with his first big part, in ER, was a failure as it didn't turn out that way. Then there was British model and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, with whom George had an on-off thing, continuing through 2005. In one of the off periods, he saw Renee Zellweger. The only verification of his inability to commit is the fact that he couldn't stay with her even. There was also actress Krista Allen.

Now as a film star, producer, writer and active charity fundraiser and politico, George Clooney has gained a massive success. He has jumped really high by making a shift not only from TV to big screen but also by moving from action star and romantic lead to become something of an auteur.
