Ben Affleck Ben Affleck Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck’s transition from no one to that “man rags” is what you may call a rag-to-riches tale. At a time when he was about to be ousted from Hollywood, the brave Ben refused to budge in. And he came back with a vengeance. He fought back arm in arm along with childhood friend and confidante Matt Damon. The duo got their own finance, they wrote their own screenplay, produced and starred in Good Will Hunting, their joint venture. The movie was an instant hit and brought home an Oscar.

Benjamin Geza Affleck was born on the 15th of August, 1972, in Berkeley, California,  but moved on to Boston. His father, Tim, was an actor and director of repute. His mother, Chris, was a schoolteacher and a big influence on Ben. As a child model, he worked for Burger King and acted in the mini-series The Voyage Of The Mimi. Along with his younger brother casey, Ben would participate in various dramas and stage shows.

Affleck did a number of roles, though it did not gave him the much desired fame. He also tried directing with his satirical  I Killed My Lesbian Wife, Hung Her On A Meat Hook And Now I Have A Three-Picture Deal With Disney.

In 1995, he appeared in Kevin Smith's Mallrats. Affleck here is the ultimate seducer of girls. Smith likes Affleck’s characterization and his acting so much that he scripted his next movie around Affleck - Chasing Amy, about a charming cartoonist (Affleck) who falls for a lesbian. For a long while after that nothing much happened. Ben co scripted Good Will Hunting along with Damon and the two got to star in the movie.

Affleck and Damon then produced the comedy, The Third Wheel and co-wrote a TV series, called Push Nevada. This generated good revenue for them. Affleck got romantically involved with Jennifer Lopez and amidst heated public discussion which said that their relationship was stopping his progress, called off his scheduled marriage with the lady.

He moved on to reunite with Kevin Smith for Jersey Girl, based on Smith's own experience of fatherhood. Ben is a workaholic man who has accidently fathered a girl and now has to serve as a single parent to his daughter.

In Surviving Christmas, Affleck plays a man dumped by his girlfriend. It was a hilarious comedy and brought Affleck good reviews.

Damon and Affleck launched Project Greenlight because they wanted to give other talented but unknowns a chance to make a movie. Presently, it is in its third season. Greenlight tracks the whole process of making a movie including major steps such as screen play writing, directing, casting etc.

Affleck is a benevolent person with a heart of gold. He supports Neil Bogart Memorial Fund which looks after cancer research at Los Angeles Children's Hospital.

It has been reported that Ben is about to be a father soon. Jenniffer Garner is reportedly carrying his baby and the couple is about to marry for the benefit of their child. Recently, on Jenniffer’s 33rd birthday Ben asked her for marriage.

Ben has earned enough to stay at home and enjoy his life but this man works and explores various roles. In fact, he is busy experimenting and achieving new heights. He has achieved success after a lot of hard work and a great determination. If he is at the top, he deserves to be there.
