Bam Margera

Bam Margera Bam Margera Bam Margera

“I can’t believe I am letting him lose on society.” Said April Margera, Bam Margera’s mother. That is the terror of Bam the maniac. MTV once described Bam Margera as "a skate guru who's skidded face-first down the vert ramp one too many times." True indeed.

MTV’s Jackass started an altogether new genre; that of real life topsy turvy, scary and stupid adventure show. People were tired of looking at well directed shows where they knew that nothing beyond the screen was true, everything was a construct. Jackass showed them real stuff with no retakes and no editing.

The series went on television for two complete years, from 2000 to 2002. audiences liked this concept so well that they kept on asking for more. Whatever money Bam got out of the show, he invested on his next venture and ultimately we had the film, Jackass: The Movie.

This movie became an instant hit and Bam also gained a lot of popularity because of that. For the movie, Bam and friends won the MTV Award for Best On-Screen Team. In 2003 Margera started the MTV series, Viva La Bam, which featured various, staged stories and some really scary stunts at the Margera family household in Pennsylvania.

Some of the best pranks (or worst! Whichever way you take it) on 'Viva La Bam' include Bam setting bomb in his house thereby blowing his house. Once he also brought an elephant into his garden, much to the disappointment of his family. The most regular feature of the show includes Bam hitting his father, what is unpredictable is the unique ways he keeps on inventing to torture his already ailing father.

Margera made the next big step and showed his creative juices to the hilt by writing, directing and starring in the 2003 film, Haggard: The Movie. Bam The film stars Bam and most of his prankster friends. It is not fiction but is based on a true story about Ryan Dunn's ex-girlfriend who dumps Dunn for someone else and the boys notoriously spy on her to see her movements.

After that he directed CKY which is basically skate board videos. CYK is also the name of his brother Jess's heavy metal band. Bam's crew includes Ryan Dunn, Brandon DiCamillo, Rake Yohn, Raab Himself, his ever suffering parents, Phil and April, and his uncle Vincent Margera. This show is full of breath taking antics by the boys, which continuously gives us goose bumps merely by watching them.

Bam was born on September 28, 1979 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Phil and April Margera. His brother, Jess Margera is a band member of Camp Kill Yourself. He was given the nickname of Bam by his grandfather upon seeing his constantly wild nature.       When Bam was young, he liked capturing moments on his handy cam and making craziest home movies ever made. This passion did not end as he grew up; in fact it increased ten folds. He started skateboarding in 1988 as he had this hunger to know more and more.

In personal life, Bam is friends with  HIM's frontman, Ville Valo. Bam worked as a director for a few HIM videos. He also has heartagram tattoos, a symbol invented by Ville Valo. Bam continues to evolve in film and stunts, but he also appears on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games. He enjoys skateboarding, acting and filming. What he really likes to eat is an everything bagel with M, L & T.One information bit in the end, Margera's name is pronounced mar-JER-uh...and nothing else.
